Bay Area Behavioral Connection’s Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation (CDE) Program offers a wide range of diagnostic services to children ages 0-18. The first step of the CDE process is to meet the diagnostic team for an initial screening interview to determine if further testing and evaluation is necessary. If the screening interview determines further evaluation is warranted, the second step of the CDE process is a comprehensive evaluation and assessment of symptom manifestation. If a screening interview indicates suspected neurodevelopmental disorders, further evaluation and testing is recommended. This thorough diagnostic evaluation would include observation of the child’s behavior in at least 2 settings, review of existing reports, and interview of current caregivers. This process may also include a Speech and Language evaluation as well as a Licensed Speech and Language evaluation. A typical diagnostic evaluation involves a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, a Speech and Language Pathologist, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst as well as other supporting Clinicians, to provide insight into the child’s symptom manifestation within the context of the full diagnostic criteria for neurodevelopmental disorders. The Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation often begins with an initial screening interview with BABC's CDE team which comprises of Licensed professionals to determine if further evaluation is warranted. If further evaluation is recommended, BABC will use a battery of tests and assessments.
