BABC's Adaptive Skills Training Program provide targeted training with basic living tasks. Our AST Program seeks to facilitate instruction of specific skills needed to promote self-sufficiency in daily living tasks. AST services may be provided to increase each individual’s ability to attend school, work, execute basic living skills, integrate into the community and ultimately live independently. Furthermore, our AST program offers independent living training and assistance to live at home and community while implementing the program design and achieving the objectives of each person's Individual Program Plan (IPP).
The Adaptive Skills Training program focuses on functional life skills aimed to increase socialization and personal independence. This program utilizes naturalistic settings and teaching methodologies to target specific skill deficits while building on strengths. In addition, this program also employs naturally occurring reinforcers as a means to create a realistic approach to contrive opportunities to practice everyday life skills.
